We dined with a party of ten in Sept. 2006 and 2007. At our 2007 seating they forgot the promised birthday cake and 5 of the 9 dishes were the same as the previous year. When we emailed and asked them to vary the menu, Thomas Keller called us personally and said, "If you don't like what I serve, don't come." We cancelled and will now dine at Gary Danko's in S.F., a much better restaurant. French Laundry is SO not worth what they charge you.

I am pretty sure you mean "cornet". A coronet is a crown.
Just thought I'd point it out :-)
This looks fabulous BTW. I wish I was closer to do it.

Chuckles,

I just signed up to this Twitter thing that Erin turned me on to and I found your blog through your Twitter page. It is awesome. I especially loved the post about the beets. I am a huge beets fan - golden beet are my favorite and my old room Zach and I made this fennel and beet salad that was to die for. He used some rice wine vinegar he got while in Japan on a dancing trip. It takes forever to make beets but once they are done they are amazing.

So are you becoming a chef. It seems like you are well on your way and I know you used to love to cook back in Ann Arbor. Are you still studying photography. Your photos on your page are beautiful. You have always been so creative and talented.

A friend of mine was in Chapel Hill this past weekend and it reminded me of our trip together. Hope you are doing well and I am super excited to use your pesto recipe. I have tons of fresh basil in my backyard (well it is more like a back slab of concrete with some soil around the edges). Also all the tomatoes Patrick and I have planted are ready to be consumed. Also I love figs and I think next year we are going to plant some figs and hopefully cucumbers as well. This year it was only tomatoes, red and orange peppers, basil, cilantro (my favorite herb), rosemary, and parsley. Unfortunately the cilantro died pretty early on in the summer. It was too bad because homemade salsa is the best food in the summer time.

Well, enough talking I guess. I cannot wait to try some of your wine suggestions. Talk to you soon.

Troy,
Reservations are accepted two months to the day in advance. I would suggest trying Open Table to secure a reservation, or you can call the restaurant directly.
